Do you have a story to tell, an experience to share or something interesting to say about cats? We’d love to hear from you.
Pussycat Friends is an independent online publication dedicated to cats and the people who share their lives with them. We publish practical advice, personal stories, thoughtful opinions and features that explore the many different aspects of living with cats.
We’re always interested in hearing from new contributors. You don’t need to be a professional writer or an expert in feline behaviour. Some of the most interesting articles come from ordinary cat owners who have something worthwhile to share.
What can you write about?
We welcome original contributions across a wide range of subjects, including:
- Cat behaviour: Understanding how cats think, communicate and interact with people.
- Health and care: Practical, responsibly researched advice on keeping cats healthy and happy.
- Adoption and rescue: Experiences of giving cats new homes and the work of rescue organisations.
- Kittens: Advice and experiences from the earliest stages of a cat’s life.
- Personal stories: The funny, moving and sometimes challenging realities of living with cats.
- Opinion and features: Thoughtful perspectives on cat welfare, responsible ownership and issues affecting cats.
- Product reviews and cartoons: Independent assessments of useful products, and original creative work celebrating feline life.
We’re particularly interested in articles that draw on genuine experience, offer readers useful information or approach a familiar subject from a fresh perspective.
Why contribute to Pussycat Friends?
Every published article carries an author byline. Contributors can also have an author profile with a short biography and photograph, helping readers discover more of their work.
We welcome both established writers and people publishing their work for the first time. What matters most is having something interesting to say and presenting it clearly.
We ask contributors to use their real names wherever possible, although reasonable pen names are welcome. A photograph of your cat can also be used for your author profile if you prefer.
You may include a relevant personal website or business in your biography, but we do not accept articles written primarily to promote businesses, products or commercial backlinks.
Are contributions paid?
Pussycat Friends is an independent publication, and contributions are currently unpaid.
We recognise the time and effort involved in producing good writing and believe it is important to be clear about this from the outset.
Contributors receive recognition for their work through their byline and author profile, with the opportunity to share their published articles as part of a writing portfolio.
